630 A IEC frame breaker with 70 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA1463-6EE42-0AA0-ZD00 is a 4-pole IEC frame 630 circuit breaker from the 3VA1 series, rated for 630 A continuous current with a breaking capacity class H achieving Icu=70 kA at 415 V. This puts it in the high-interrupting tier for IEC applications — it clears fault currents up to 70 kA without upstream cascading, which matters for main incomer or high-fault bus positions where the available short-circuit current is substantial. The TM220 trip unit provides adjustable overload protection (Ir) from 440 A to 630 A, and fixed short-circuit pickup at Ii = 8 x In. The ATFM designation indicates line-protection characteristic with thermal memory, suited for cable and busbar protection. The neutral conductor is unprotected on this variant.
Integration and panel fit
The 3VA1 frame mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be bolted into a fixed chassis position in a switchboard. The 4-pole configuration occupies the full width of the frame — verify busbar and phase-spacing alignment before committing the panel layout. The nut keeper kit for DC Power OEM in China is included; this is a factory-fit accessory for DC-side applications, not a field-installed option.
