The Siemens 3VA2225-6KP32-0DL0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 250 A continuous current, 3-pole, designed for line protection. It delivers a breaking capacity of 242 kA at 240 V and 187 kA at 415 V, with derated performance at higher voltages down to 4.5 kA at 690 V.
Ratings and derating
At 40 °C, 45 °C, and 50 °C the breaker holds its full 250 A rating. Above that, it derates linearly: 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C. For a panel running warm — say 55 °C ambient inside the enclosure — the usable continuous current drops to 238 A, not the nameplate 250 A. The thermal-magnetic trip unit has a minimum setting of 375 A and maximum of 2 500 A, covering a wide range of overload and short-circuit protection profiles.
Auxiliaries and communication
Factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a complement of auxiliary switches: 2 auxiliary switches, 1 trip alarm switch, and 1 electrical alarm switch (HQ type). The UVR ensures the breaker trips on loss of control voltage — useful for emergency-stop circuits or undervoltage protection on motor feeders. A communication function is built in, allowing integration with higher-level monitoring or control systems without an external module.
Integration and footprint
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint that fits existing panel layouts and DIN-rail or screw-mount installations. The 3-pole form factor matches typical three-phase feeder or distribution applications.
