What you're looking at
The TM210 gives you an adjustable short-circuit pickup (li) up to 320 A, so you can dial in the magnetic trip for motor inrush or feeder coordination without swapping the breaker. Breaking capacity is the headline here: 121 kA at 240 V AC, 76 kA at 415 V, 53 kA at 440 V, and still 12 kA at 500 V. That's serious fault-clearing muscle for a 20 A frame — it'll ride through a bolted fault on a 2 MVA transformer secondary without welding its contacts shut.
Thermal derating — real-world current
At 60 °C it derates to 19 A, same at 65 °C and 70 °C. That's a flat curve — you don't lose a full amp until you're past 55 °C ambient inside the panel. Power loss maxes at 12 W — negligible for thermal budget in a typical panel, but worth noting if you're stuffing a dozen of these into a sealed enclosure with no forced ventilation.
Footprint: 76.2 mm wide (3 inches), 130 mm tall (5.1 inches), 70 mm deep (2.8 inches). No motor drive option on this variant, so it's manual operation only (toggle handle). If you need those extras, you're looking at the 3VA series instead.
That said, the 3VM series is Siemens' economy MCCB line, positioned below the 3VA series. If you're sourcing against a BOM that originally called out a 3VA1010-2ED32-0AD0, the 3VM1120-4ED32-0AA0 is a different frame — same 20 A, 3-pole, but the 3VA has a higher interrupting rating at 480 V and more accessory options. Physically, the 3VM is slightly narrower (76.2 mm vs 90 mm on the 3VA), so it won't drop into the same panel cutout without a filler plate or re-drill. Check your panel layout before swapping.
