What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1180-3EE32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection. It uses a TM220 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, so it handles both overload and short-circuit faults in one unit. Rated 80 A at 40 °C, it carries that current up to 50 °C, then derates to 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C — useful to know if your panel runs hot. Breaking capacity is 76 kA at 240 V, 53 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 12 kA at 500 V. That 76 kA at 240 V gives you solid SCCR headroom for a 240 V distribution board — it interrupts high fault currents without cascading upstream. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V.
Mounting and integration
Dimensions: 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep. Front-face protection is IP40, so it's fine inside a standard enclosure but not for washdown or outdoor exposure. No undervoltage release, no communication function, no ground-fault monitoring — it's a straightforward line-protection MCCB without add-on modules.
