Its 0.55 mH inductance limits the rate of current rise from a variable-frequency drive's PWM output, protecting the motor windings and extending cable runs. The reactor is designed for a rated switching frequency of 2 kHz and a line frequency of 50/87 Hz, with a short-circuit voltage of 5.4%.
The 50 A maximum current is the thermal limit under rated conditions; the continuous current rating (Ith) at 40 °C ambient is 45 A per the detailed spec line. The 0.55 mH inductance and 5.4% impedance (Uk) define the voltage drop at rated current. For a 480 V drive output, expect roughly 26 V drop across the reactor at 45 A — factor that into the motor terminal voltage if the run is marginal. Total power loss is 115 W (75 W coil + 40 W iron core). That heat must be shed into the enclosure; the IP00 open-frame construction means no fan or ducting inside the reactor itself, so panel ventilation or forced airflow is your responsibility. Thermal class B insulation (130 °C rise) at 40 °C ambient gives a 90 K allowable temperature rise. That's standard for industrial motor-circuit reactors and matches most VFD output derating curves.
Mounts as a free-standing component inside the enclosure — no DIN-rail footprint. Dimensions are 0.21 m wide × 0.17 m tall × 0.12 m deep, so it needs about 4 liters of panel volume plus clearance for airflow.
