What this MCB carries — and what it doesn't
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL4425-7CC is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 25 A at 400 V AC with a C-curve trip characteristic. The C-curve means it holds up to 5–10× rated current momentarily — standard for mixed lighting and small motor loads in residential or light commercial distribution boards. The 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10 kA at the rated voltage, which covers most domestic and light commercial service entrances. Four poles (4 width units, 72 mm wide) let it switch all three phases plus neutral in a single module — no separate neutral link needed, though note neutral conductor switching is not built in (the neutral pole is switched, not fused).
Panel fit and environmental limits
Mounts in any position (top, bottom, side — no derating needed for orientation). Installation depth is 70 mm, overall depth 76 mm, width 72 mm (4 standard DIN-rail module widths). IP20 with conductors connected — fine for enclosed distribution boards, not for wet or outdoor locations. Terminal capacity accepts 0.75 mm² to 25 mm², which covers most domestic and light commercial cable sizes. Vibration resistance is 50 m/s² per IEC 60068-2-6, so it holds up in panels near light machinery or pumps. Ambient limit is +55 °C at up to 95% humidity — keep it out of direct sunlight or boiler-room heat.
