The Siemens 5SP3463-3 is a SENTRON main miniature circuit breaker, 4-pole (4P), rated 63 A at 400 V AC with an E tripping characteristic and a 25 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898.
The E tripping characteristic is a slow-trip curve designed for overload protection of circuits with high inrush currents — think transformers, motor starters, or capacitor banks. It sits between the D curve (higher inrush) and the K curve (motor protection) in the SENTRON lineup. For a 63 A 4P breaker, the E curve is a deliberate choice: it avoids nuisance tripping on inductive loads while still providing short-circuit protection. Temperature derating is specified: 63 A at 30 °C, 59.85 A at 40 °C, 58.275 A at 45 °C, 56.7 A at 50 °C, and 55.125 A at 55 °C. The insulation voltage is rated 690 V, and overvoltage category IV applies, meaning it is suitable for the origin of the installation (utility-side interface). The 30 g shock resistance (3 impacts, 11 ms duration) covers seismic and transport vibration.
Snap-on standard rail mounting, 6 modular width units wide. Saddle terminals and infeed at box terminal are standard. The integrated locking slide accepts a lock, wire seal, or cable ties for anti-tamper or isolation lockout. Depth is 76.3 mm, height 128 mm — these dimensions matter when fitting into a shallow enclosure or a gland-plate layout. The supply cord position is any, so top or bottom feed works.
