Motor protection window and trip class
The MS132-6.3 covers a 4.0 to 6.3 A full-load-amp range, so it protects motors whose nameplate FLA falls inside that band — not below 4 A, not above 6.3 A. Phase-failure detection is built in: if one phase drops out, the protector trips on the unbalance — no separate phase-loss relay needed. Short-circuit protection is integral, so the MS132 serves as both the overload and the branch-circuit short-circuit protective device in a motor starter combination.
DIN-rail footprint and manual operation
At 45 mm wide, the MS132-6.3 fits two units per standard 90 mm DIN-rail section — useful when packing multiple motor starters into a compact panel. The rotary handle provides manual on/off control and resets the trip after a fault; the handle position gives a visual trip indication without opening the enclosure door.
The lifecycle stage is marked as current — ABB still produces the MS132-6.3.
