Motor protection that fits the panel and the load
The MS132-12 is a 3-phase manual motor protector with an adjustable full-load amp range of 8 to 12 A, covering fractional to small integral-horsepower motors on 600 VAC lines. Trip Class 10 means it opens within 10 seconds at 600% of the set current — fast enough to protect the motor winding during a stalled rotor or jam, but not so fast that it trips on normal inrush during start. Built-in phase failure detection shuts the motor down if one phase drops out, preventing single-phasing damage that would otherwise cook the winding in minutes.
Integrated short-circuit protection — one device, not two
The MS132-12 includes short-circuit protection rated at 600 VAC, so you don't need a separate upstream fuse or circuit breaker for the motor branch circuit — it's a combined manual motor starter and protector in one 45 mm package. This simplifies the panel layout and reduces wiring time: one incoming line, one outgoing load, no coordination study between a separate breaker and overload relay.
