Adjustable 20-25 A motor protection in a 45 mm footprint
The ABB MS132-25 is a manual motor protector (MMP) covering the 20-25 A adjustable full-load amp (FLA) range for 3-phase motors up to 600 VAC. The dial sets the trip point within that window, so one part number covers a spread of motor nameplate currents — useful when the BOM has several motors in the same bracket. Trip class 10 means the bimetal overload trips within 10 seconds at 600% of set current, fast enough to protect standard IEC motors from locked-rotor heat buildup. Phase failure detection is built in — if one leg drops out, the protector opens the other two before single-phasing cooks the winding. The 45 mm housing width stacks tight on a DIN rail. In a panel with multiple motor feeds, that narrow pitch leaves room for contactors, terminals, and PLC I/O without spreading the enclosure size.
