The Delta DVP20EX2 is a DVP-EX2 Series PLC in the DVP family. It carries 16k steps of program capacity and supports a maximum of 256 input points plus 16 output points, or 256 output points plus 16 input points. Three COM ports are built in — one RS-232 and two RS-485, each able to operate independently — which covers most mixed-protocol fieldbus layouts without an expansion card.
The 16k step program capacity sets the upper bound for logic size — enough for a medium-size machine cell or a multi-station packaging line, but a large conveyor network with extensive recipe handling may push past it. The 256-point I/O ceiling (with the 16-point output or input constraint) means the CPU can handle a distributed rack of remote I/O; the built-in RS-485 ports support Delta's own DVP-SLIM remote I/O modules or Modbus RTU slaves without a separate comms module.
Deployment context
Password protection for subroutines and user ID restriction is built in — useful for OEMs who need to lock machine logic from end-user tampering.
