The Delta VFD45AMH43ANSAA is a Frame F frequency converter rated for 22 kW (30 HP) motor output on a 3-phase 380–480 VAC supply, delivering 49.5 A in heavy-duty service and 53.9 A in normal-duty service. The 53.9 A normal-duty figure applies for variable-torque loads (centrifugal fans, pumps) where the drive sees lower sustained current at the motor's full speed.
Installation and duty considerations
The drive is naturally cooled (no fan), which eliminates a common failure point but means the enclosure must allow free air circulation — mount it vertically with clearance above and below per the manual's minimum spacing. The EMC filter is optional (not fitted as standard), so if the installation must meet conducted emission limits for the CE mark or a specific machine directive, order the filter variant or plan an external filter. Carrier frequency is adjustable from 2 to 15 kHz (factory set at 4 kHz); raising it quiets the motor but increases thermal dissipation in the drive — at the higher end, derating the output current may be necessary.
Voltage tolerance and input range
The operating voltage range is 323–528 VAC, which covers the nominal 380–480 V three-phase supply with a –15% to +10% tolerance. That headroom handles a weak grid or a long feeder run where voltage drop is a concern, provided the input current stays within the rated 49.5 A (heavy duty) or 53.9 A (normal duty). Frequency tolerance is 47–63 Hz, so it rides through minor grid frequency excursions without tripping.
