The SOOE-RG-R-PNLK-T is a retro-reflective optical sensor from the SOOE series, built to detect transparent objects at distances up to 3.5 m using a red LED light source. The M8 plug termination keeps field replacement quick: no rewiring, just unplug and swap.
Sensing distance of 3.5 m is specified with a standard reflector (not included). That range covers most conveyor divert gates, bottle-present detection, and pallet-zone monitoring. The 0 m minimum sensing distance means no dead zone right at the lens — useful when the target passes close to the sensor face. Operating voltage range of 10–30 VDC covers both 12 V and 24 V control systems without a separate regulator. The push-pull output sinks or sources current, so it mates with sinking (NPN) or sourcing (PNP) PLC input cards — no polarity mismatch to troubleshoot. The 100 mA load current is the maximum continuous output; it drives a small relay or indicator directly, but for larger contactor coils you'd buffer through an interposing relay.
Retro-reflective sensors like this one are a staple on packaging lines, material-handling conveyors, and automated assembly stations. The transparent-object capability (the 'RG' variant) is specifically tuned to see clear PET bottles, glass vials, or film-wrapped products that a standard retro-reflective sensor would miss.
