The Mitsubishi FR-D720S-070SC-EC is a 1.5 kW frequency inverter from the FR-D700 series, rated for 7 A output. It takes a single-phase 200–240 VAC supply (50/60 Hz) and delivers three-phase output up to 400 Hz — the standard fit for a small 1.5 kW motor on a conveyor, pump, or fan where only single-phase power is available at the panel.
The 7 A rated current and 1.5 kW power set the motor size this drive handles — match it to a 1.5 kW three-phase induction motor. Single-phase input means it's the right choice for sites without three-phase supply, common in light industrial or retrofit jobs. The 400 Hz max output covers high-speed spindle applications; for a standard 50 Hz motor, just set the base frequency in the parameters. Built-in MODBUS RTU over RS485 gives you fieldbus connectivity to a PLC or SCADA without an extra option card — wire the pair and set the station ID. The six digital inputs and the analog input accepting 0–5 V, 0–10 V, or 0–20 mA cover speed reference and basic interlocking. One open-collector digital output and one relay change-over contact handle status feedback or fault annunciation. IP20 means it's for clean, dry indoor panels — not for washdown or dusty floors. Panel-mount it with screw terminals on the line and load side. The 2–14.5 kHz carrier frequency lets you trade audible noise for heat: run at 2 kHz for cooler operation in a tight enclosure, bump it up for quieter motor operation if the panel has ventilation.
