The Mitsubishi FR-D740-036SC-EC is a 1.5 kW frequency inverter from the FR-D700 series, rated for 3.6 A output on a 380–400 V three-phase supply. It carries a MODBUS RTU interface over RS-485, making it a straightforward fit for a line that already talks MODBUS on the control network — no gateway, no protocol adapter needed. The 0–400 Hz output range covers standard induction motors and higher-speed spindle applications, while the 2–14.5 kHz carrier frequency lets you trade audible noise against motor heating; a 14.5 kHz carrier quiets the windings but derates the drive slightly above 40 °C ambient.
Panel-mount with screw terminals, IP20 — so it lives inside a clean enclosure, not on the plant floor. The 108 mm width and 135.5 mm depth fit a standard 400 mm deep cabinet with room for the gland plate; plan for 50 mm clearance above and below for airflow. Five 24 VDC digital inputs and one analogue input (0–5 V, 0–10 V, or 0–20 mA) cover a basic speed reference and run/stop logic; the open-collector digital output and 0–10 V analogue output give you a speed-follow or fault relay to the PLC without an extra I/O slice.
