The Mitsubishi FR-D740-160SC-EC is a 7.5 kW, 16 A frequency inverter from the FR-D700 series, sized for a three-phase 380–400 V supply. The 16 A rating is the continuous output current — match it to the motor FLA, not the nameplate kW alone. Output frequency goes to 400 Hz, which covers high-speed spindle applications beyond the usual 50/60 Hz motor range. The carrier frequency is adjustable from 2 kHz to 14.5 kHz. Running at the higher end reduces audible motor noise but increases inverter losses and derates the output current — plan for a 10–15 % derating above 10 kHz if the ambient is over 40 °C. Built-in MODBUS RTU over RS485 is the standard fieldbus; no option card needed for basic PLC communication. The five digital inputs (24 VDC) and one analog input (0–5 V, 0–10 V, or 0–20 mA) cover speed reference and start/stop control without extra I/O.
Panel-mount footprint: 220 mm wide, 150 mm tall, 155 mm deep. The IP20 enclosure means it is intended for a clean, dry cabinet — no washdown or dust exposure. Screw terminals accept standard power and control wiring; the relay output is a single change-over contact rated 250 VAC. Operating temperature range is -10 °C to 50 °C.
