Motor control and feedback: induction and PM motors
Supports induction motors and permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PM motor) with a choice of V/F control, real sensorless vector control, or magnetic flux vector control — the PM sensorless vector mode is what you need for high-efficiency IE4/IE5 motors. No regenerative (4Q) braking capability is built in; for fast deceleration or overhauling loads you must add an external braking resistor and enable the chopper circuit.
Commissioning and networking: USB and RS-485
A built-in USB mini-B port allows direct connection to a laptop for parameter setup with Mitsubishi's FR Configurator2 software — no separate communication adapter needed. The RS-485 port runs Modbus RTU natively, so the drive integrates into a PLC-based line without a gateway; the built-in PLC function (2K program memory) can handle simple local logic like pump alternation or conveyor interlock without a separate controller.
