What it is and what it does
16-point input block for the FX2N PLC series — the FX2N-16EX adds 24 VDC discrete inputs to the expansion bus. Power comes from the sequencer backplane; no separate supply needed. Accepts no-voltage contact, NPN open collector, or sink/source transistor inputs. ON threshold is 3.5 mA, OFF below 1.5 mA. Input impedance is 4.3 kΩ, and response time runs about 10 ms. Each input is photocoupler-isolated from the logic, with 500 VAC withstand between input terminals and ground for 1 minute. Insulation resistance is 5 MΩ or more at 500 VDC.
Sourcing reality — obsolete, not factory-active
If your BOM line is frozen with this order code, the supply path is quoted to order against an RFQ. Lead times and availability vary; there is no factory last-time-buy window remaining.
Panel fit and wiring
Terminate on the vertical terminal block with M3 screws. Input LEDs per point show on/off status during operation. Mount within the same panel as the FX2N CPU; the expansion cable connects to the port. Do not install above 2000 m altitude — the part is not rated for pressurization beyond that and may break down. No additional power wiring is needed; the block draws its supply internally from the sequencer via the expansion bus.
