RS-232C interface for FX2N PLCs
The Mitsubishi FX2N-232IF is an RS-232C communication interface module that mounts on FX2N series PLCs. It provides a full-duplex, non-procedural serial link at selectable speeds up to 19200 bps, with a D-SUB 9 pin male connector on the front panel. The module occupies 8 I/O points on the PLC bus. Power is drawn two ways: 40 mA at 5 VDC from the PLC backplane, plus 80 mA at 24 VDC ±10% from an external supply. Plan for the external 24 V feed in your panel wiring.
Installation and grounding
Ground per Class D: dedicated earth with resistance 100 Ω or less. The ground terminal is isolation-tested at 500 VAC for one minute against external terminals. Insulation resistance is 500 MΩ minimum at 500 VDC.
