Base unit with 40 relay outputs, 24V DC – lifecycle and first-fit
The FX2N-80MR-DS: Relay outputs are general-purpose, rated for switching AC and DC loads up to the contact ratings listed in the full datasheet. For applications requiring higher switching frequency or DC inductive loads, verify the relay life curve against your load profile.
Comparator: FX2N-80MR-DS vs FX2N-80MR-ES/UL
The only parameter that changes the wiring plan is the power supply. The FX2N-80MR-DS runs on 24V DC; the FX2N-80MR-ES/UL runs on 100-240V AC. Both have 40 inputs, 40 relay outputs, and the same base-unit dimensions — so a panel laid out for one can accept the other after swapping the supply rail and any fuse/MCB sized for the respective voltage. No terminal re- assignment on the I/O blocks is required. The ES/UL variant draws 70 VA vs the DS's 40W — a meaningful difference for the power budget but not a dimension or mounting constraint.
