24-point brick with relay outputs and a 10 ms scan
The FX3G-24MR/ES is a compact PLC from Mitsubishi Electric's FX3G Series, packing 14 digital inputs (24 VDC sink/source) and 10 relay outputs into a 24 I/O-point brick. The relay outputs handle up to 2 A per point — suitable for direct switching of contactors, solenoid valves, and small motors without an interposing relay. Program capacity is 32000 steps with a 10 ms scan time — fast enough for most machine control sequences, though not for sub-millisecond servo loops. The scan time sets the minimum cycle for ladder logic execution; a 10 ms window means the PLC can poll inputs, run the program, and update outputs every 10 ms.
Panel fit and supply voltage
Mounts on DIN rail with screw-terminal wiring — no special tooling needed for panel integration. The power supply range is 100-240 VAC, so it runs directly off line voltage without a separate 24 VDC power supply for the CPU. Protection rating is IP10 — indoor, dry location only.
Built-in features and expandability
Includes a real-time clock, USB programming port, and supports three programming languages: instruction list, step ladder, and structural function block. Six high-speed counters and three impulse outputs are built in — enough for basic positioning or encoder feedback without an add-on module. The unit is expandable — additional I/O modules can be added to the right side of the base unit, scaling beyond the onboard 24 points.
