Communication Capabilities
Supports multiple protocols: Modbus RTU (master or slave), no-protocol communication, computer link using dedicated formats 1 and 4, parallel links up to 115200 bps, simple PC-to-PC links up to 38400 bps, and inverter communication at 4800/9600/19200/38400 bps. The Modbus baud rate goes up to 115200 bps on units manufactured after July 2012 (serial number 127xxxx or later).
Mounting and Environmental Limits
Rated for operation from 0 to 55 °C, 5 to 95% RH non-condensing. Storage range is -25 to 75 °C. Vibration resistance: 0.035 mm half-amplitude at 10–57 Hz when DIN-rail mounted, or 4.9 m/s² at 57–150 Hz. Impact tested to 147 m/s² for 11 ms half-sine, three times each in X, Y, Z. Maximum altitude 2000 m; do not use in pressurized environments above atmospheric. Weight is 0.08 kg, so it adds negligible load to the DIN rail.
Connections and Compatibility
Connects via a European terminal block with RS-485/422 multi-drop up to 500 m total length (shorter if mixed with older BD-type adapters). The adapter occupies 0 I/O points on the PLC, so it does not reduce the available input/output count. It uses photocoupler isolation and withstood 500 VAC for 1 minute between external terminals and ground.
