CC-Link node for FX3U racks
The FX3U-64CCL is a CC-Link intelligent device station that mounts on the FX3U series PLC backplane, converting the local rack into a remote node on a CC-Link fieldbus network. It supports Ver.2.00 and is backward-compatible with Ver.1.10, so it drops into existing CC-Link segments without a firmware upgrade on the master. Transmission speed is selectable from 156 Kbps up to 10 Mbps, with the maximum cable length following the CC-Link specification for the chosen rate. The station number and number of occupied stations (1 to 4) are set via rotary switches on the module face.
Power, grounding, and isolation
The module draws 220 mA from the 24 VDC external supply; the internal 5 V rail from the PLC backplane is not used. Grounding must be Class D with a resistance of 100 Ω or less, and common grounding with high-voltage equipment is not allowed — a dedicated ground wire to the panel earth bar is the standard practice. The network bus is photocoupler-isolated from the internal power supply, with a 500 VAC withstand voltage for one minute between all terminals and ground. This keeps the CC-Link bus electrically separate from the PLC logic, reducing the risk of ground loops in mixed-voltage cabinets.
Rated for 0 to 55 °C operating ambient, 5 to 95% RH noncondensing, and vibration per the 10–57 Hz / 0.075 mm amplitude profile when DIN-rail mounted. The module is not rated for use above 2000 m altitude without pressurization — a constraint for high-altitude installations.
