Flash memory means the program is retained without battery backup — no risk of losing the application during a battery swap or extended power-down. Rated for 10000 write cycles maximum. In a typical machine where the program is updated a few times per year, this endurance covers the equipment's service life. For applications requiring frequent field re-flashing (e.g., multi-product changeover), budget the cycle count against the expected update frequency.
Hardware protection and transfer controls
A PROTECT switch on the cassette prevents accidental overwrites — slide it to lock before leaving the panel. The Data transfer button lets you initiate a program transfer without a programming tool, useful for field service or quick clone operations.
