What this adapter does
The FX5-232ADP is a slot-powered expansion module that adds a single RS-232C serial port to a Mitsubishi MELSEC-F FX5 PLC. It handles baud rates from 300 up to 115200 bps, supports both half-duplex and full-duplex communication, and includes photocoupler isolation between the communication line and the CPU. Maximum transmission distance is 15 meters via a standard 9-pin D-sub male connector. The adapter can operate as a Modbus master, making it a straightforward way to talk to older serial instruments or drives without fieldbus conversion.
