The FX5-C1PS-5V: This is the Mitsubishi power supply for the FX5 PLC family. It takes 24 V DC in (allows +20%, -15% swing) and gives you two rails: 5 V DC at 1200 mA for the logic board, and 24 V DC at 625 mA for the I/O loop. Total draw pulls 30 W from the bus. Out here in the grease, that covers a mid-size FX5 rack without breaking a sweat. Rush current hits 35 A for half a millisecond on power-up, so the upstream 24 V DC supply needs to handle that transient without tripping. The built-in fuse is a 125 V, 3.15 A time-lag type – easy to spot when you're swapping a blown one on a live panel. Allowable momentary power failure is 5 ms, meaning the PLC stays running through a quick dip in the incoming DC. That's tighter than the 20 ms you'd see on a Q-series supply, so keep your DC bus clean.
How it stacks against a QS061P-A2
The QS061P-A2 runs off AC 200-240 V and outputs 6 A at 5 V DC. The FX5-C1PS-5V takes 24 V DC in and delivers 1200 mA at 5 V DC.
