What It Is – 32 Sink/Source Inputs on a Connector
The FX5-C32EX/DS-TS is a pure 32-point 24 V DC digital input module for the Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-F series, attached via the extension connector — no relay or transistor outputs on board. Inputs are grouped into 32 points at 24 V DC, sink or source wiring depending on the common layout; the connector-type termination means a pre-wired harness or I/O cable is required, not direct screw terminals.
Backplane Power Budget – What the CPU Must Deliver
The module draws 120 mA and 130 mA from the backplane power rails. Check the CPU’s total capacity when stacking multiple additional slices. No external 24 V supply is needed for the module logic, but the field-side input sensors must be powered separately; the 24 V backplane current covers only the electronics, not the loop power.
Lifecycle & Sourcing – Active, Normal Supply
Lead time runs 1–10 working days for standard quantities; larger volume confirm with a fresh quote.
How It Differs from Mixed I/O Modules (e.g. FX5-32ER/ES)
Unlike the FX5-32ER/ES (16 inputs + 16 relay outputs, powered from 100-240 V AC), this module is input-only — no output stages to troubleshoot, no AC power terminals to wire. If your BOM calls for 32 inputs and no outputs, this saves panel space and avoids unused relay channels; the connector termination also keeps the wiring count lower than a mixed I/O block with screw terminals.
