Product details

CC-Link Master/Slave Module for FX5 Series

The FX5-CCL-MS is a CC-Link master/slave module for the Mitsubishi FX5 PLC series, configurable as a master station or an intelligent device station. It communicates via broadcast polling, is HDLC compliant, and supports CC-Link Ver. 2.00 (with backward compatibility to Ver. 1.10). The module occupies 1 to 4 stations in the link, set through the engineering tool. As a master station, it connects to remote I/O, remote device, and intelligent device stations but cannot link to local or standby masters. This makes it suitable for centralized CC-Link networks where the FX5 is the network controller.

Protocol & Network Fit

Encoding uses the NRZI method with frame synchronization. The broadcast polling communication method means the master controls all token-passing logic—no need for additional configuration beyond station assignment. Transmission is structured per HDLC framing. When used as an intelligent device station, the module can be set to occupy 1 to 4 stations, adjusting the address range consumed on the CC-Link bus. This is essential for larger slave devices that need multiple station addresses.

Frequently asked questions

What types of stations can it connect as a master?

As a master station, it supports remote I/O stations, remote device stations, and intelligent device stations. Local stations and standby master stations are not connectable in this mode.
