Product details

The Mitsubishi FX5U-32MT/ES is a 32-point CPU unit from the FX5U series, packing 16 transistor sink outputs and 16 sink/source inputs. It measures 150 mm wide with a 123 mm mounting hole pitch, fitting a standard DIN-rail footprint. Power it with 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz; inrush hits 25 A at 100 V and 50 A at 200 V for up to 5 ms — make sure your supply handles that spike.

Speed and signal handling

Total load per output common is capped: 0.8 A max per 4-point common, 1.6 A per 8-point common. That 0.5 A per-point rating means you can't simply sum points — distribute loads across commons to stay within the limit.

Installation notes

Grounding requires Class D with resistance under 100 Ω, using AWG 14 (2 mm²) wire kept as short as possible. Exclusive grounding is preferred; common ground is acceptable per the manual. The built-in capacitor holds clock data for 10 days at 25°C after 30 minutes of power-on — useful for time-stamping through short outages, but warm cabinets cut that period. SD/SDHC card slot accepts up to 16 GB for program storage, boot files, or data logs. The unit runs stored-program iterative logic with multiple execution types: scan, fixed-cycle, interrupt-driven. Up to 32 program files and 16 FB files fit in memory.
