The Mitsubishi FX5U-80MR/ES is an FX5U CPU module from the MELSEC iQ-F series. It provides 40 digital inputs configurable for sink/source at 24V DC, 40 relay outputs, and includes 2 integrated analog inputs, an Ethernet port, and one RS-485 interface. With 64K steps of flash program memory and a cycle time of 34 ns for LD and MOV instruction, this module handles medium-scale standalone or distributed control applications.
The 40 input points at 24V DC, sink/source – this covers both NPN and PNP field sensors without extra interposing relays. For a panel already wired with sourcing (PNP) sensors, set the input common accordingly; for sinking (NPN), the terminal assignment changes. The relay outputs handle AC or DC loads up to their rated contact life, but they are not designed for high-frequency switching or heavy inductive loads without external suppression. If your legacy design specifies a transistor-output module, note that the FX5U-80MT/ESS uses 40 transistor (source) outputs – the FX5U-80MR/ES cannot be drop-in replaced without rewiring the output field wiring.
