FX5UC-96MT/D – not a drop-in
If you're wondering about the compact FX5UC-96MT/D as a second-source, it's a different animal. The 96-point unit uses a connector interface instead of screw terminals, so you're rewiring regardless. It also draws less on the 5 V rail (720 mA) and 24 V supply (500 mA), but the form factor is smaller and mounts differently. For a line-down swap on an existing FX5U panel, stick with the FX5U-80MT/DS.
Lifecycle status is marked current – Mitsubishi is still shipping this model. It's not a phase-out part. If you're building a BOM or filling a spare slot, this one is an open-ended order. We quote against an RFQ; lead time typically runs 1–10 working days.
