What It Is and What It Does
The Mitsubishi MR-J4-200A is a 1-axis servo amplifier from the MR-J4 series, rated for 2.0 kW continuous output and a rated speed of 1000 r/min. It's designed for low-inertia applications requiring high-speed acceleration and deceleration — think pick-and-place, part transfer, or any cycle where the load needs to get up to speed fast and stop on a dime. The IP67 rating means the amplifier body is sealed against dust and water jets — it can be mounted directly on or near the machine frame in washdown zones, not just in a clean control cabinet. That saves panel space and wiring runs.
What the Ratings Mean for Fit
The 2.0 kW rated output tells you the continuous mechanical power the amplifier can deliver to the motor. Pair it with a servo motor in that power class — the low-inertia rotor design means the combined system can ramp up and down quickly without overshoot. The 1000 r/min rated speed is the base speed at which the amplifier delivers full rated torque. If your application needs higher spindle speeds, you'll run the motor in the constant-power field-weakening region above that — check the motor's speed-torque curve. No electromagnetic brake on this unit. If the vertical load needs holding at standstill without power, you'll need an external brake resistor or a motor with a mechanical brake. The amplifier's dynamic braking circuit handles deceleration energy, but it won't hold a suspended load.
Integration Notes
Straight shaft end, standard keyway — mates to most common couplings and pulleys without special machining. The IP67 enclosure lets you mount it on the machine frame; just ensure the cable glands are properly torqued to maintain the seal.
