Wiring practice note
The MR-J4-500AA: Analog input wiring: shield terminated at the drive end only, floating at the controller side, to keep common-mode noise off the ±10 V reference. Pulse-train inputs are differential (line-driver preferred) for reliable counting at high speeds. The control circuit is 24 VDC; the main DC bus charges through a soft-start resistor — wait for the charge LED to extinguish before touching terminals. Spring-cage connectors on the control block accept 0.2–1.5 mm² ferruled stranded.
Datasheet field note
Lifecycle stage is marked current, meaning Mitsubishi continues to manufacture and support this order code. No successor has been announced. Compliance documentation (RoHS, CE) is standard for the MR-J4 family; the drive carries the CE mark for the European market. For a line-down spare or new build, the MR-J4-500AA is a straightforward RFQ item — no obsolescence risk to manage.
