Interface and integration fit
The Analog/Pulse interface means the MR-J5-100A accepts ±10 V analog speed/torque commands and a pulse-train position reference — the two most common legacy control signals in retrofit and simple motion applications. No fieldbus module is required for basic velocity or positioning; the drive decodes the pulse train directly. This keeps the wiring simple: a shielded twisted-pair for the analog command and a differential line-driver pair for the pulse input. For a controls integrator swapping out an older MR-J2 or MR-J3 drive, the Analog/Pulse pinout on the CN1 connector is functionally compatible, though check the connector keying on the 50-pin header.
Panel fit and thermal considerations
The MR-J5-100A is a 100 A class drive, sized for a servo motor in the 1.5 to 3 kW range depending on the motor series (HG-KR, HG-SR). In the panel, it occupies a standard MR-J5 frame size and requires clearance above and below for convective airflow — 50 mm minimum. The built-in regenerative resistor handles light deceleration; for vertical loads or high-cycle applications, plan for an external regenerative option on the terminals. DIN-rail mounting is standard, so it snaps into the same footprint as the MR-J4 it likely replaces.
