What the Q52B Extension Base Unit Does in a Q Series Rack

The Mitsubishi Q52B is an extension base unit for the MELSEC Q Series PLC platform. It accepts up to two I/O modules and adds them to the backplane without requiring a dedicated power supply module — the 5VDC bus is fed from the main base unit, drawing 0.080A from that supply. That low draw leaves headroom for additional modules on the same power budget.

Mounts with M4 screws through M4 or f4.5 holes (four M4×14 screws included). If you prefer DIN rail, the Q6DIN3 adapter (sold separately) converts it. The base unit is extendable, so you can chain multiple units along the rail for larger I/O counts. Keep the DIN rail adapter on the BOM if the panel spec calls for rail mounting — the screws alone won't hold it on a rail.
