The Mitsubishi QX40 is a 16-point DC input module for the MELSEC Q Series PLC platform. It accepts 24 V DC signals (operating range 20.4 – 28.8 V) at approximately 4 mA per point, with photocoupler isolation between field wiring and the backplane. All 16 points can be ON simultaneously at rated voltage in sink-type configuration.
The 16-point count matches the occupied I/O points on the PLC, so no mapping overhead. The 4 mA draw per input is typical for 24 V DC sensors; the module's total internal power consumption from the 5 V DC backplane is 50 mA with all points ON — well within the Q-series power budget. The 18-point removable screw terminal block (9 cm × 2.74 cm × 9.8 cm) uses standard pitch, so existing panel wiring layouts should accept it without re-termination.
