What the R68B is – an I/O expansion chassis
The R68B is a PLC extension base unit – the backplane and physical mounting frame that carries up to 8 plug-in I/O modules, expanding the digital or analog channel count of a compatible R-series CPU. It is not a standalone controller; it is the expansion stage that sits alongside the main CPU or another base.
Mounting and integration – DIN rail or direct screw
The base mounts with M4 screws through holes sized for an M4 screw or a 4.5 mm clearance hole. An optional DIN rail adapter (model R6DIN1) is available. Ambient operating temperature is rated 0 to 55 °C, covering typical industrial enclosures without forced cooling.

Certifications UL, cUL, and CE qualify the unit for panels destined for North America and the European market without additional agency review.
