Integrator's note on the B7AM-6BS
The B7AM-6BS is a combined I/O module from Omron's B7A series, packing 16 digital inputs and 16 solid-state outputs into a single chassis- or DIN-rail-mount unit. It runs on a 12 ~ 24VDC supply and terminates via screw terminals, making it a straightforward fit for existing 24 V control panels.
The B7AM-6BS is discontinued per Omron's lifecycle status. Sourcing now runs through surplus and broker channels — expect to work with a distributor who can locate NOS or verified pulls. No last-time-buy window remains open.
The closest functional sibling is the B7AM-8B36. Both are B7A-series I/O modules with the same supply range (12 ~ 24VDC), mounting options, and screw terminals. The B7AM-6BS doubles the I/O count — 16 inputs and 16 outputs versus 8 each on the B7AM-8B36. If your panel was wired for the B7AM-8B36, the B7AM-6BS will not drop in without rewiring the terminal block and updating the I/O map. The physical footprint and connector layout differ.
Screw terminals accept field wiring for both input and output channels. The 12 ~ 24VDC supply powers the module and the solid-state output side. Verify polarity and fuse the supply line per the module's rated current draw (not listed here, but standard for this class).
