What it is and where it sits
The Omron CJ1W-SCU-V1 is a Serial Communications Unit in the CJ1W family, mounted on the CJ-series PLC rack as a CPU-side communications slice. It exposes 2 RS-232C ports to the backplane, giving the controller two independent serial channels for point-to-point devices, scanners, or operator terminals. As a CJ1W-series option board it occupies one of the standard rack slots to the right of the CPU, addressing and DIP setup follow the rest of the CJ1W communications lineup.
