CPU overview for the controls integrator
The Omron CJ2H-CPU68-EIP is a mid-range PLC CPU in the CJ2H series, built for applications that need a dedicated Ethernet/IP port alongside legacy serial and USB programming access. It packs 832K Words of memory — enough for a medium-sized machine with several hundred I/O points and structured text or ladder logic. The CPU supports up to 40 modules across three racks, so you can scale the I/O, motion, or network slices without swapping the processor.
Communications and integration
The built-in Ethernet port speaks EtherNet/IP natively — no extra option card needed for that protocol. The RS-232C port supports CompoWay/F and Modbus (RTU/ASCII), which covers most serial drives, HMIs, or third-party instruments. A USB port is available for direct programming from CX-One.
Carries CE, cULus, Lloyd’s Register, and NK (Nippon Kaiji Kyokai) approvals. That covers European CE marking, North American UL/cUL listing, and marine classification for Lloyd’s and NK — relevant if the machine ends up on a vessel or offshore installation.
