Entry-level PLC for fixed-I/O applications
The Omron CP1E-E10DR-A is a compact, non-expandable PLC from the CP1E series, designed for small standalone machines or simple control tasks where the I/O count is fixed. It provides 6 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs, enough for a handful of sensors and actuators like start/stop buttons, limit switches, or small solenoids. The 2K words memory is sufficient for basic ladder logic sequences but will fill quickly with complex routines or large data tables — plan the program size before committing.
Mounting and power supply constraints
Powered by 100-240 VAC, so no separate 24 VDC power supply is needed for the CPU; the relay outputs switch up to 2 A per point (resistive), but the total output current is limited by the internal common rail.
Approvals include CE, cULus, Lloyd, and NK, so it is accepted in European, North American, and marine (Lloyd's, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai) installations — useful for shipboard or offshore auxiliary controls.
Programming and communications
Programmed via CX-One software (the same environment used for Omron's CJ, CS, and CP1L series), so a shop already running CX-One can reuse the project templates and tag database. The USB port handles programming and monitoring — no serial adapter needed.
