Overview
The CP1L-M40DT1-D is an Omron CP1L-series PLC CPU unit, order code CP1L-M40DT1-D, with 24 digital inputs and 16 sourcing transistor outputs on a 40-point base. It runs on a 24 V DC supply and is rated for chassis or DIN-rail mounting. The unit is in active production and carries CE, cULus, Lloyd, and NK certifications.
Function & operation
The CP1L-M40DT1-D executes ladder-diagram programs stored in its 10K-step memory, with a 32K-word data area for variables and recipes. The 100 kHz high-speed counters on four axes handle encoder feedback from conveyors or linear actuators, while the two 100 kHz pulse outputs drive stepper or servo axes directly — no separate motion module needed for simple positioning. The 24 digital inputs accept 24 V DC signals from pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors; the 16 sourcing transistor outputs switch DC loads such as contactors, indicator lamps, and small solenoid valves. On-board USB provides programming and monitoring access; an option-card slot adds serial or Ethernet connectivity for HMI or SCADA integration.
Applications
This CPU is suited for standalone machine control in packaging, material handling, assembly stations, and small process skids where 24 I/O points and basic motion are sufficient. The transistor outputs and high-speed counters make it a natural fit for pick-and-place cells, labeling machines, and conveyor diverters.
