The CP1W-CIF11 is a serial option card for the Omron CP1E PLC series, adding an RS-422A/485 communication port. It mounts inside the CP1E CPU or expansion rack, occupying the option slot on the left side of the base unit.
What the RS-422A/485 port buys you
RS-422A/485 is a differential serial link for longer distances and more nodes. Typical use is connecting the CP1E to a Modbus RTU network, a VFD, an HMI, or a remote I/O cluster.
Integration note for the CP1E rack
The card plugs into the option slot on the CP1E CPU or on an expansion I/O unit. No backplane power budget to watch — the CP1W-CIF11 draws its supply from the rack bus.
