What it is on the rack
The Omron CP1W-EIP61 is a CP1W-series communication module classed as a link adapter with Ethernet specification, supplied in a Box package for direct mount on the Omron CP1 Series PLC family. RJ-45 is the field-side interface, so it drops onto the CP1 CPU or expansion slot without a separate backplane module. Functional role is to expose the CP1 controller on an Ethernet/IP scanner network — the typical route when a machine builder needs CP1 visibility inside a Rockwell-dominated plant.
Panel-side integration notes
Mounts directly onto the CP1 Series host — no separate base, no extra power supply wiring. The single RJ-45 jack carries the EtherNet/IP traffic to the scanner; loop draw is taken from the CP1 backplane, so power-budget headroom on the host determines whether an additional slot can be added beside it. For a machine originally specified around the older CP1W-EIP01-US, the EIP61 is the current-generation equivalent in the same family and package, so the mechanical footprint and slot count carry through without rewiring — only the configuration tool expects the newer module profile.
