What this link adapter does on a CP1 or CJ2M rack
The Omron CP1W-MODTCP61 is a MODBUS TCP link adapter that sits on the expansion bus of a CP1-series or CJ2M PLC. It adds a Modbus TCP client/server port without consuming a CPU serial port or requiring a separate protocol converter.
Compatibility and integration
Rated for use with CP1-series controllers and CJ2M CPUs — the adapter mounts on the right-side expansion connector of the CPU or an existing I/O expansion unit. The Modbus TCP channel appears as a standard FINS gateway in CX-Programmer, so the configuration steps are the same as setting up any Ethernet-connected Omron PLC: assign an IP address, set the Modbus function codes, and map the holding registers to the PLC memory area.
