Integration brief
The Omron CP2E-N14DR-D is an expansion I/O module that adds 8 digital inputs and 6 relay outputs to a CP2E PLC system. 24VDC supply and screw terminals keep it standard for control panels. DIN rail mount – same footprint as other CP2E I/O slices.
Delta: relay vs solid-state
Compared to the CP2E-N20DT1-D (12 digital inputs, 8 solid-state outputs), the CP2E-N14DR-D trades I/O count for relay outputs. Six relay channels handle up to typical 2 A per point (per Omron’s catalog), suitable for direct switching of contactor coils, solenoids, and small motors without interposing relays. The N20DT1-D’s solid-state outputs give faster switching and longer life, but are limited to lower current and no inductive load tolerance – you’d pack an interposing relay for similar work. If your panel need is mixed resistive and light inductive loads, stick with the relay version.
Screw terminals and DIN rail mount; operating temperature range -20°C to 60°C.
