Each CS1D CPU draws roughly 0.8–1.2 A from the 5V rail depending on the model and expansion; a 64-point input module pulls about 0.15 A. Add up the 5V current draws of every module in the rack — the sum must stay under 4.3 A or the supply will current-limit and the system will brown out. The backplane mounting means the module snaps into the CS1D rack without separate wiring — power and ground run through the backplane connector, not terminal blocks. This keeps the panel layout clean and reduces the chance of a loose power wire dropping the rack.
