What it is and what it does
CS1W-CTS21 is an Interface Module for Omron's CS Series PLCs. It mounts on the backplane and provides 4 digital inputs and 4 solid state outputs, terminated via D-Sub connector. Operating range 0°C to 55°C – rated for cabinet use. Solid state outputs mean no mechanical contacts to wear – good for frequent switching or low-power DC loads. The D-Sub termination keeps field wiring tidy if your cabinet uses pre-made cables.
Integration checklist
Mounts into the CS1W backplane – no DIN rail needed. D-Sub connection: use a shielded cable for noisy environments. Ground the shield at the panel end only. Power from the backplane; no separate supply needed. Wire 4 digital inputs (sink/source compatible with CS series) and 4 solid state outputs (check output voltage/current limits from the CS1W manual, not listed here). The module addresses automatically in the IO table – configure via CX-Programmer.
