The D4A1116N is a coil-spring-actuated limit switch from Omron's D4A series, built for positions where a machine cycle needs a clean momentary signal. It carries SPDT contacts rated 10 A at 250 V AC, plenty for direct switching of small contactors or PLC inputs.
The DC side is trickier: you get 0.4 A at 250 V DC, but at 14 V DC it handles a full 10 A, so watch your voltage and load type. The 5° pretravel and 5° total travel give a short, positive snap — good for precise position sensing on a cam or slide. The aluminum body and surface-mount footprint bolt down with two 0.2-inch holes spaced 59 mm vertically and 29 mm horizontally. NEMA ratings 1, 2, 3, 4X, 5, 6P, 12, 13 cover indoor and outdoor enclosures, including hose-down and corrosive environments. Shock-resistant construction means it'll survive the vibration on a conveyor or pump skid.
Deployment context
This switch belongs on a machine guard, a transfer station, or a rotary indexer where a coil-spring actuator sweeps through a cam profile. The screw terminals make wiring quick with a #2 Phillips, and the included boot keeps the actuator rod sealed. Mount it surface-style on a bracket or angle iron; the 4.19-inch actuator length reaches into the machine envelope without an extra lever arm.
