The Omron D4BS45FS is a safety-door switch from the D4BS Series, built to interlock access guards on industrial machinery. Its 1NC + 1NO contact configuration gives you one normally-closed channel for the safety circuit and one normally-open for status feedback — the standard pairing for a monitored guard interlock. Rated to switch 10 A at 250 V AC, it handles the control voltage for most safety relays and PLC inputs directly. The IP67 protection rating means the switch body and actuator seal against washdown and dust ingress — it's at home on food-processing lines, packaging cells, or any area that gets hosed down.
The 43 mm depth and 40 mm width fit the standard compact safety-switch footprint — it mounts directly to machine frames or guard panels without needing a custom bracket. The 111.5 mm height gives enough room for the actuator head and cable entry. Electrical life is rated at 500,000 cycles; mechanical life at 1 million cycles. On a typical production line cycling once per minute, that's roughly 8,000 hours of electrical life and 16,000 hours mechanical — well into years of service before the contacts need attention. The mechanical rating is the practical limit for the actuator mechanism; the electrical rating assumes switching the full 10 A load.
